Since Adam Ant once had a group called the B-Sides, it makes sense that his singles, both as lead singer of Adam and the Ants and as a solo, would have non-LP B-sides. And since Ant was a hit in the U.K. before he made it in America, and was always bigger in Britain, many of those B-sides appeared only on English singles. This is a collection of songs recorded between 1980 and 1985 that gave Ant a chance to try novelty approaches while the A-sides relentlessly beat out his trademark "Antmusic." In fact, songs like "Making History" do have that characteristic yodel and the Burundi-style drumming of Terry Miall and Merrick. But elsewhere, Ant tries different things, frequently light, slight things like "Juanito the Bandito." But fun was always one of his qualities, and it's here in abundance.
