O.V. Wright was a hell of a performer, one of the highlights of Hi's roster, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the second volume of The Complete O.V. Wright on Hi Records is necessary for anyone outside of the hardcore. The reason for this? It's because it concentrates entirely on live performances he cut for the label. He was a fine live performer, as several of these selections prove, but these recordings are primarily for the dedicated -- especially because the disc has a rather abbreviated running time. They will find this collection pleasing, but it's likely too specialized for anyone outside of the devoted.
