One of the finest records the Johnson Mountain Boys ever recorded, Let the Whole World Talk is an audaciously accomplished set of modernized bluegrass. The group slips a couple of excellent contemporary folk songs onto the record, but it is mainly notable for the way they make traditional songs into vibrant, vital and undeniably contemporary music. For its instrumentals, harmonies and arrangements, Let the Whole World Talk is one of the finest contemporary bluegrass albums of the late '80s.
