Antoine Boësset
A French composer who held a number of different appointments between 1613 and 1632. Uniquely he maintined all of he the offices to which he was appointed until his death. Boesset composed a number of "airs de cour" (Airs for the Court) and dominated the scene in early 17th century French in regards to he court. According to Bacilly, Boesset invented the structure of the form henceforward referred to as "aire".
