Blessed Death

Arguably the only band in history to feature identical twins for a rhythm section, Blessed Death were New Jersey thrashers featuring vocalist Larry Portelli, guitarists Jeff Anderson and Nick Fiorentino, bassist Kevin Powelson, and drummer Chris Powelson. Formed in 1984, just as the speed metal movement was on the up, Blessed Death issued two hyper-technical but poorly produced albums: 1985's Kill or Be Killed and 1987's sadly prophetic Destined for Extinction -- after which general consumer indifference quietly drove them into retirement. ~ Ed Rivadavia, All Music Guide
