Danni Leigh
Contemporary country singer Danni Leigh was born and raised in Strasburg, VA, where she made her performing debut at age three with her preschool choir. At 19 she relocated to Orlando, with the intention of auditioning as a singer at Disney World, but instead worked a variety of day jobs while performing at a series of local clubs; upon moving to Nashville in 1994, Leigh took a waitressing job at the popular songwriters' haven the Bluebird Cafe, where she was befriended by Michael Knox, vice president of creative services at Warner-Chappell Publishing. Knox ultimately produced her first demo recordings, and also co-produced Leigh's 1998 Decca label debut 29 Nights. Shot of Whiskey and a Prayer was issued in early 2001. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
