Sweden's Everdawn comprised Pierre Tornkvist (vocals/guitar), Patrik Tornkvist (guitar), Niklas Svensson (bass), and Oskar Karlsson (drums) -- all formerly members of Gates of Ishtar and Decortication. After the traditional black metal of 1996's Opera of the Damned EP, the band adopted a faster death/thrash metal sound reminiscent (some would say carbon copied) of fellow Scandinavians At the Gates for their 1997 full-length debut, Poems -- Burn the Past.
