Francisco Antonio de Almeida was primarily a composer for the vocal genres. Media included opera, oratoria, masses, motets and serenata. His works include but are not limited to "In pentimento di Davidde," "La Pazienza di Socrate," "Le virtu trionfanti," "Veni Sancte Spiritus," "Benedictus," "Miserere," "Beati Omnes," "O quam suavis est Domine," and the opera "La Spinalba ovvero Il vecchio matto." Almeida was able to capture the feeling of the story-lines in note-for-note harmonics forsaking not the import of the independent lines including the upper registers.
