Jack Leaver is a Michigan native and freelance writer whose writing appears regularily in The Grand Rapids Press, The Kalamazoo Gazette and The Muskegon Chronicle. A musician since the age of five, Leaver plays guitar, piano, pedal steel guitar and cello, as well as being a fine vocalist and entertainer. Leaver co-founded and fronted the Dushanes, a successful country-rock band in the early- '90s. After the band dissolved, Leaver helped form Mosey, an American roots-rock band, who released their debut CD "Flatlands" in 1998. Besides studio work, songwriting, showcasing and live performances, Leaver is co-owner of Big Mitten Music, a wholesaling/retail business in West Michigan. Desert Island Picks 1.
