's Artist Review for K-O's

""
0reat stuff.
0-Os is amazing! Joyfull Rebellion was his breakthrough album. When it first came out, I remember constantly hearing the singles "B-Boy Stance", "Man I Used To Be", and "Crabbuckit" on the radio; all of which are excellent songs. I liked what I heard, and not being the biggest Hip-Hop fan (understatement) I went out and bought the album. A good decision indeed! Along with the singles, other great tracks are "Commandante", the reggae-ish "Crucial", and "The Love Song", possibly the best track on the album. K-Os' lyrics are for the most part deeply reflective and quite critical of mainstream Hip-Hop. He mentions all kinds of subjects in his excellent lyrics, from Al Capone to Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. The last few tracks though, feel like filler on an othewise excellent album.

This album made me realize that decent Hip-Hop is out there, you just have to look for it. I bought his next album as soon as it came out. I recommended this album to underground Hip-Hop fans as much as I do to Rock fans. Great stuff!
