Bengameaholic's Album Review for The Blackening
""
This is not just the greatest album of the year, this is one of the greatest metal albums of all time!
Machine Head : The Blackening. Where do I begin? It all started a long time ago with Burn My Eyes. That resulted in ultimate success and even though other albums recieved praise, never matched to their debut. However, with the release of The Blackening not only have they surpassed that in which they created from Burn My Eyes but have surpassed all other musicians in the world.
Each and every song contained on this album is a gigantic, mega, epic song of brutal riffs and fantastic guitar work, bass work and drumming work.
Clenching The Fists Of Dissent is the intro track to the album. This song is just over 10 minutes long and each and every minute is more interesting than your average song. And that's times 10. And the solo is out of this world. Absolutely incredible. A personal favourite.
Beautiful Mourning has to follow an ultimate masterpiece and does that by changes the style and creating this rhythmic brilliance that lives up to the name of this mega, colassal album.
Aesthetics Of Hate is the single of the album. This song has so many incredible riffs in one song it's unbelievalbe. Truly brilliant. A personal favourite.
Now I Lay Thee Down is another epic song. And it manages to grab attention from other epic songs in just about 5 minutes.
Slanderous may be one of the coolest songs in the world. This song does not stop being incredible for one second. No joke. A personal favourite.
Halo is just so amazing. It's like a fantastic movie that you journey through in 9 minutes and once you've seen you want to see it again and again. Another personal favourite.
Wolves may just be Machine Head's greatest ever song. Not only the complexity but at the level in which it is pulled off is just outstanding. There are so many incredible riffs here it's just inspiring. A personal favourite.
A Farewell To Arms. The final song to this epic masterpiece. This song is so whole and fruitful, it's a fantastic way to end the album. A final personal favourite.
I've said it and I'll say it again. This album is absolutely incredible. If you haven't bought it, buy it now. However...if you don't like metal then don't by it. If you do, you will be amazed at it's brilliance. Essential stuff. Not owning this album, is like not being allowed to have the sense of touch.

This album is not by Machine Head. I am disappointed that some idiot let it and the albom appearing above it get on this page. Machine Head is a good band and do not deserve people disrespecting their name with crap like this.

Album Review for Machine Head - Through the Ashes of Empires
Some bands who are trying to make a throwback comeback fail a bit, metallica's St. Anger for example was a good album but it stood definitely in the shadow of Kill 'em All/Master of Puppets and others.
But let's not talk about Metallica, Machine He
