Peking Turtle

Led by chanteuse Typhanie Monique Coller, Peking Turtle became known around the Chicago jazz scene for their legendary lengthy jazz sessions and interesting performances. In 1998, the band released Crossing which contained a great deal of jazz and boogie music. Named after turtle-themed door prizes Coller would hand out, the band has appeared on the Jenny Jones talk show as well as several musical showcases. Several members have worked with blues legends Buddy Guy, Bo Diddley, and Otis Rush. The band released their second album, Airtite, in November of 2000. ~ Jason MacNeil, All Music Guide
