He is one of the best guitar players. I really like his Derek and the Dominos album, his albums with Cream, and his album "Slowhand."

It's not truly an insult. Both are really, really good at their instruments, make unholy amounts of money, have sold an unbelievable amount of records, and both cater to the over-40 yuppie crowd.

Oh yea, and they're both incredibly freakin' boring.

Clapton could beat up pretty much any guitarist man. "Layla" is incredible.

Heh, they're not that boring, but that is a pretty good comparison. Clapton is to Collins as Hendrix is to Bonham.

He did copy Robert Johnson THE king of the delta blues. But that was only in memory of the amazing guitarist. Other than that, Clapton is totally original except for the Bob Marley covers which he spiced up in his own way. If you are talking about guitar skills, he mainly uses a style similar to Robert Johnson. But you are wrong when you say he copies everyone.

How dare you compare Phil Collins to Clapton... no one's better than Phil! Can Clapton play drums and sing at the same time? No. That's hard to do.

It's alright, I just have an unnatural loathing for anything Phil Collins.

He's Blues-Rock. A combination of the two genres. And if you look into his music, you will see a lot of songs with a classic Blues feel.

Little known fact... or maybe not

Hendrix inspired Clapton (and many many others that came to see a certain show... i forget which, but a lot of soon to be famous people were there and inspired by hendrix) and thus was the birth of Fresh Cream (the influence is evident)
