Who was the greatest vocalist in the history of rock music. In my opinion, it is definitely Chris Cornell, then Freddie Mercury (I like Cornell's music better, so that breaks a tie). Who would you say is the best?You must be registered and logged in to post a message.

I guess for me it depends on how the vocalist mixes with the music. You could have a really great vocalist but if the music doesn't suit the sound of his voice then it wouldn't really work. Imagine having Chris Cornell singing with the backing of the guys from Maroon 5 or the other way around.
Chris Cornell has really done a great job of sticking to bands where his voice is really appreciated.

One problem: Maroon 5 sucks
. Most vocalists have a voice that fits a single style. However, Cornell has proved that he can pull off heavy fuzzed out grunge to softer acoustic songs. You must be registered and logged in to post a message. -

Brad Delp's very good. Not one of the best IMO, but exceptional.
