I'm afraid I'm going to have to completely dissagree with you on Pearl Jam's new album. I love it. The energy is just so raw and angry. It IS a grunge album. Pearl Jam is still keepin the grunge alive, and this album is a good example. I mean I love all of Pearl Jam's albums because they're so different, but this... its just so... hard to explain haha. My favorite band is Incubus. But, currently in 2006, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tool are making big splashes. I think the BEST band is one of those two.You must be registered and logged in to post a message.

Since it's "rock" it's hard to say...Pearl Jam's pretty on top of their game, but I'd say Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers when I think of straight up rock.

They are post-hardcore, not rock...Tool is progressive Metal...we are talking about pure rock bands...

Everyone seriously needs to shut up about these labels. It's rock. Black Sabbath were rock. Pearl Jam is rock. From First to Last is rock. Franz Ferdinand is rock. Ben Folds is rock. Opeth is rock. Labeling needs to stop. Blackalicious is hip hop, as is Outkast. I don't say "Blackalicious is post-golden age indiehop, and Outkast is dirty south alternarap."
