The Libertines self-titled second album is somewhat of a disappointment after their glourious debut 'Up the Bracket'. However I wouldnt knock it off too badly as 'The Libertines' offers some good tunes with 'The Man who would be King','Can't Stand me Now' and 'What Became of the Likely Lads'. But some songs don't really capture what the Libertines are about, 'Dont be Shy' shouldnt really be on the album. Still, this is a good album and should still be in your record collection.

The Libertines debut album 'UP the Bracket' is up there whitin the all time great debut albums. Its raw and intelligent lyrics combined with fantastic riffs create an album as 'spin' describes perfectly " this is music to play while buying cigarettes". I urge you to buy a copy next time you're in a record shop and be blown away by this album. This was the Album that made me want to make a band and probably many others as well.
