I Need Writers: You Interested?

Hey everyone. I'm back at Georgetown starting my junior year which is gong well.

My websiteEntertainium.orglaunched last month pretty but we didn't have a constant stream of content. This has now changed. My friend Matt and I are the only principle writers but we are both putting out a lot of reviews every week for television shows.

Our plan is ambitious, to review the releases in the video game industry, movies, new albums, and every televisions episode as possible. It has taken a lot of work and I need your help.

Thus I am asking if anyone would like to write for the site. You can write pretty much whatever you want, but I am looking for video game content in particular. By signing up you will:

  • Have content up on an emerging entertainment site
  • Gain valuable experience from people who have written for major sites
  • Gain industry contacts
  • Eventually get paid

Other Immediate Perks:

  • Opportunities to go to game preview events for companies like THQ
  • Ability to attend to E3 next year
  • Free games and DLC in the coming months

If you are interested, post here, or email me at dougbuffone4488@hotmail.com . It would be helpful to include any writing samples as well as your name, age, location, which consoles you own and what you want to write about. I can't say that everyone will be accepted but I will do my best to give everyone a fair shot.

I would also love for you guys to listen to my podcast for the site, called The Byline(which you can download AND subscribe to through iTunes). You could also tell me what you think about the site.

Thanks and I look forward to your thoughts and your help!

-Doug

Sounds awesome,

Good luck with your site =)

Sorry I do already work for Gaming Reviews Live though, but again good luck dude =)

I'm interested and just sent you an e-mail.

Good luck with the site (I bookmarked it!), I won't bother applying to join the team since I'm not much of a writer. I will say I was let down a little by the review of that Entourage episode which was one of the first articles on the site, It's not just a comedy.

....But....I thought I was special when you asked me.

Hope what I gave you was ok. I started off thinking I was going to make it shorter than my last two...somehow I ended up in the middle of those two, in between being about 600 words by itself. Already heard the Podcast, very good, don't have iTunes though.

Hey Doug, I'd be interested, for sure, you can check my reviews out from the links in my blog.

I've sent you an email Doug, look forward to hearing from you.

Just to let everyone know. Throwing me an email won't hurt even if you think you are a bad writer, too young, or whatever. I started writing for sites when I was 15 and I was not very skilled. Part of the site is helping people becoming better writers

Certainly is a very ambitious and thorough plan, all the best to you. Naturally as a UKer this has little application to me, but all the best with the site.

@PAJ89 : Already have a writer for the UK. If you want to do it, don't let that stop you!

In high school, in the UK. People just looking for excuses not to

The podcast doesn't work for iTunes.

I'd love to help, but I just don't have the time right now. Good luck with the site, Douglas.

@ Oh really? Then I'll send an e-mail. Thanks

The chance to go to e3 and other gaming events, count me in... oh wait, I have absolutely NO writing skill . If you expand and find the need for support staff/moderators I'd be happy to assist.

Oh and congrats on getting the site up and running.

That sounds awesome, but I'm too far away and too young so I wouldn't worry about it .

Hi Doug, I'd be interested in writing for your site, I'd be happy to write primarily about video games. I'd like to write about reviews and latest news, however I'm not entirely fussed as I'm passionate about writing and enjoy video games to a large (possibly unhealthy ) extent. I'll send you an email containing my details and a few of my writing samples as well. - Dan

That would be awesome to help you out, but I think I'm not the person you're looking for.

The 2nd perk will be something I would most definitely would like except for the fact I like about 6000 miles away from LA. I might be interested but I feel there will be other people will be better than me since I just tend to get writer's block when I am trying to write things like reviews (hence why I have done so few).

Good luck nonetheless.
