From endless frustration to endless amount of fun
Ok so AC2 has been my most anticipated game of the year. As you might know Ubisoft has released the game in three edition, normal, white and black. The Black Edition being the ultimate assissins edition sold for 90 euros, with an extra artbook, dvd, 3 downloadable maps and Ezio in hisfully upgraded gear. I tried my hardest to get my hands on the Black Edition and went as far to order it from Play.com knowing I wouldn't have my game on release day.
Here the journey of ultimate frustration starts. I was clever enough to convince my cousin to buy his White Edition on release day and hand it to him after the weekend. He was out of cash at the time anyway and was ok if I played it for a couple of days.So I could actually play the game for an entire weekend. I really put a lot of hours into it, it is such an amazing game. At the end of the weekend I had 500/1000 achievement points. I really was into the game, but had to hold on to the deal with my cousin and hand it over to him. So from that point no more AC2 for me.
The wait for the Black Edition from play.com was on. Their site says shipments to Holland useally takes 7-10 days. Fair enough. The game didn't arrive during that time and I have been waiting without AC2 for so long and I still have nothing. Itis my most anticipated game of theyear and not being able to play it while it is in store is really a buzz kill.If the game doesn't arrive they cannot send me another copy either, since the Black Edition is so limited. They can only give me a refund after 21 days have passed. Frustration level has reached his peak. I couldn't wait any longer, knowing the White Edition are limited too. I went to a shop and got the last White Edition for 60 euros. I can breath once again.
The wait has been really killing me, Play.com doesn't offer any form of track and trace. I will never order at Play.com ever again. At least I can play AC2 now and I hope I get a refund as soon as possible. AC2 is such a great game and I am just over the middle of the game. Hours of fun are still ahead of me ![]()
360 is BACK ! ! !
So my 360 gave me an error message just over a week ago and I had to send it in for repairs. The timing couldn't have been worse, just before the release of Modern Warfare 2. So it killed some off the release hype. Microsoft service has been really good though, I called them and on the same day they picked the broken 360 up from my house. On the site I could see exactly what was going on with the repairs. Yesterday they send back a new 360 and today it got delivered to my house. The hardware of Microsoft maybe faulty, but with there repair service is nothing wrong. So now I am very happy ![]()
I can only start playing my 360 again when I return from school on Thursday, but that doesn't face me too much
I will catch up on all the CoD action I have been missing for the past week
And next week I will hopefully get Assassins Creed 2 in the mail. The game that is bound to be my Game of the Year. So I just wanted to let you guys know
Hope you are having a good time gaming!
Have any of you seen the new Alan Wake footage? It looks amazing ![]()
Is this irony or what . . . E74 Error day before MW2 release (not joking)
So yeah I have been eagerly awaiting the modern warfare 2 release. Today I played a lot of CoD4 and a watched a movie on my 360. When I was done watching the movie I turned it off and left it for about 30 minutes. Just before I wanted to go to bed I wanted to play a few more CoD4 matches and I get an error message E74. I cannot believe this and just when I was thinking todaymy 360 has been holding up so well since I got it. Just before one of the most anticipated game releases of this year my 360 breaks on me. I really wanted to share this amusing fact with you, so you can have a laugh at least. I might try the towel trick to at least play some MW2 before I send it in for repairs
I don't if I can sleep ![]()

Small Update 2 : Uncle and HP6
Hi all,
A quick update again
Today I heard from my brother he got a healthy little son. I have become uncle for the second time now
I have yet to see the little troublemaker
Sure can't wait ![]()
Yesterday I went to see Harry Potter 6 the Halfblood Prince. It was the first time I thought the movie was worse then the book. It really didn't meet the hype that was created for the movie. It had its moments, but I certainly wasn't blown away by the movie. Still looking forward to the last 2 movies.
I have been working a lot lately, one more day and then I can take it easy for a while again
What have y'all been up to?
Small Update
I finished Prince of Persia again and got 1000/1250 on it. So I collected all light seeds and beat the game without over 100 savings from Elika and under 12 hours. Very good game and I plan on getting the DLC for it soon.
I also got 1000/1000 on Bully. Not the best game ever but fun to play. To get the 100% achievement took some time and you had to do some random stuff, like drink 500 sodas
O well, at least I got all 100% without wondering too long where I had to look for the last percentages.
With these 2 games finished I will go achievement hunting in Star Wars the Force Unleashed and Tomb Raider: Underworld
Looking forward to it
That's all, keep well ![]()
Summer has Begun ! ! !
So here is another blog
Things are going good for the moment. I finished my exams and got 7 weeks of no studying ahead of me. This week I won't be working, but from next week I will have to do some labour. Life isn't cheap.
So what have I been doing lately. Well I got the Rock Band Drums finally
I have played for some hours and I really enjoy them, but it is still a bit hard haha. I can play some songs on hard though. I downloaded some songs for RB2 today, including songs by system of a down, evanesance, papa roach, franz Ferdinand and not to forget Sponge Bob lol.
I'm also replaying Prince of Persia, nearly got all the light seeds (just 12 left
). After that I will start replaying it for the speed demon and go easy on her achievements. PoP is the first game of a series of games I will replay this summer. Bully, Star Wars Force Unleashed and Tomb Raider Underworld are still on my list.
This weekend I have been to a rock festival called Rock Werchter. A lot of bands were there, here are the ones that I enjoyed: Cold Play, Limp Bizkit, Black Eyed Peas, Pendulum, The prodigy, Just Jack, Katy Perry, Bloc Party, Rodrigo y Gabriella, The Killers and Metallica. 4 days of constant rock haha. I had a blast and it was over in a blink.
Now Im getting ready for a brain dead summer with lots of games and movies. How is your summer looking?
Who could help me with a cool new banner?
Hello guys,
I am doing alright, almost ready for the summer. 1 more exam left
I already got one result back, which is a 9.2 for Aerodynamics. A very good score if you ask me ![]()
Been playing games too, right now I am really into GRiD and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
I am going to keep this blog short, since I need to study some more. I do have a request. I would like a new banner, since this one doesn't represent me anymore. Right now I am looking forward to the following games:
Assassins Creed 2
Bioshock2
Dead Rising 2
Modern Warfare 2
Just the big games for 360 ![]()
I don't know if anyone is interested in making such a banner, but I might as well give it a shot ![]()
Well for now, see you all later
Another Blog
Hi guys, how is everybody doing? I am doing alright, I'm in the midst of my exam preparation. Luckily there is enough time to keep track of E3 a little. Some really exciting stuff happening and each console tries to deliver the best they can. That is always a good sign ![]()
I just noticed I have been playing a lot of games since I am back and my Gamer Score has almost doubled in these 4 months. It has gone up from 7930 to 15125, pretty impressive if you ask me and when summer starts the rise should continue steadily
Games don't evolve around GamerScore though, but around playing quality games and I am confident to say there are lots of those on the market. Plus there are a lot of quality games coming before years end.
We really had some amazing games in the last few years and it seemed to be dying down a little, but now things are looking very good again. Off course we have a lot of sequels from the likes of Assassins Creed 2, Dead Rising 2, Modern Warfare 2 andBioshock 2. Those games will really brighten up my upcoming holiday season ![]()
I am also very excited about project Natal, it looks to be very innovative and I wonder what types of games they will bring on the market. I am not so thrilled about games that play like Wii Sports and the game they showed, Milo, looked a bit creepy in my eyes.A virtual friend just doesn't seem right in my eyes
But the fact it works is very impressive. There sure is lots of potential to come up with great gaming ideas. So I can only kick back and wait what they will throw at us.
I also think MS will keep improving Live, I love the new services they are offering. The option to watch a game of football, or a movie with your mates in a lobby is just fantastic in my eyes. All in all, Assassins Creed took the show for me, it was the most anticipating game for me this E3 and Ubisoft really delivered. The game looks great and I am sure the story will be great again. I really cannot wait to play that game.
With that I am off. I hope you all enjoyed E3 as well ![]()
Peace
A blog
I am writing a blog. Been so long
See if I still have it, I doubt it though
I have been quiet depressed the last couple weeks and can't say I am over it. Too much to explain though and none of you are waiting for that
I am still gaming a lot and it helps to take my thoughts of my problems even if it is for a split second. I got a lot of new games lately, a bit too much if you ask me. Luckily all of them where budget price. 6 games for a total of 135 euros isn't too bad imo. What games did I got you ask, let me lay them down for you:
Prince of Persia
Mirror's Edge
Tomb Raider Underworld
FEAR
FEAR Files
Bully
KING KONG (Borrowed from my cousin)
So far I have finished Mirror's Edge and I am a far way with Prince of Persia. I think I will start playing FEAR and Tomb Raider next. I am playing KING KONG on the side, mainly for the achievements, but the game is actually quiet good and stays close to the movie.
I am pretty broke atm, so budget gaming is gonna be the new way of living
I am still looking into getting Rock Band 2 though, I so want to play the drums on that game XD But that is probably going to be this summer.
Well there is not much else, I am not that active on GameSpot anymore so probably a lot of you have lost me out of sight
For the ones that haven't, how are you doing ![]()
Keep gaming fellas ![]()
Am I still Alive ? ! ?
I am writing this blog so that must mean I am still breathing. How are you all doing? Like most of y'all know I have been in Africa for the last 5 months and tomorrow I fly back to Europe, the Netherlands. The time in Africa has gone by fast, but I feel it is time to return to my hometown. There is something I have to leave behind though and that is my girlfriend. I met her 3 months back and we really grow to love each other. The departure tomorrow is not gonna be an easy one.
I will tell a little bit what I think about the last 5 months in Africa. First of all I was here for my studies and had a project running here. Things didn't work out though and I failed my project and got another project which I failed too. Too bad failing projects wasn't one of my objectives. The outcome of this exchange program is that I am quitting my studies, what say that again. After 4 years of struggling I am going to quite my studies. It is a shame, but it feels like I am doing the right thing by going into a new direction. I still need to find that direction, but anyway ![]()
Ok so what happened next to my studies, a lot actually. You got a lot of free time next to the university, which we used for swimming in the pool, hanging in the mall and I have never been to clubs so much in my life. The people I lived with were all very cool and our time together was a blast. We were with 11 students from Holland in total. We did a lot of road trips through the country together. We been to Sun City, Qwa Qwa, Durban and Cape Town. I have really seen a lot of the country and its amazing sceneries, animals and people. A good thing is that I haven't experienced much violence or whatsoever in this country. Most of my memories are very positive. I haven't regretted leaving Europe for one second, this has been the best experience in my life.
Ok back to games, since that is what this site is about. I only had my PSP with my during my stay overseas. I finally finished God of War : Chains of Olympus on God Mode and now I am playing some Burnout Revenge. I haven't gamed a lot and I haven't missed my 360 much, but now that I am on the point to go back to the Netherlands the urge to play my xbox is getting really appealing. So it is definitely not that I am over gaming lol
I have missed so much since I have been away for 5 months and I got a lot of games to catch up on. The good thing is that I am currently looking forward for RE5 as unreleased game. So that gives me some time to catch up. The only problem is that I have spend quiet a lot of money in Africa and I would have thought things would be so cheap here
lol But if money starts to pile up again I hope to get the following games: Gears of War 2, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Prince of Persia, Call of Duty : World at War and Fable II.
First thing I will do when I get back in Holland is getting a Gold Live subscription again lol and then I will see what games I will get first. I might just wait to get the GTA IV DLC the lost & damned. And with that I am off, hope all is well with you guys and let me know if you still remember me lol
been a long time, shouldn't have let u without a blog 2 step 2
Hi guys, how is everybody? Been a very long time, so I thought why not spill some words on the internet. Ok hope things will make sense. M still in Africa, having a blast. Lots of parties and daytrips and some university on the side. Haven't been gaming much. M at the end of God of War on God mode though. Stuck on this boss on that ship, but haven't given up ![]()
Shame I am missing so much good games coming out on 360, Gears, Fable and some more I can't think of at the moment
Still there are so much stuff going on here that I don't really miss my box of power. Have been on safari, been to the biggest waterpark in South Africa, been to a animal park. Going to amusement park this weekend and will go sky divin and shark divin.
I am already on the half of my internship, time really does fly. Should try to make the best of it while it lasts. Also met a sweet girl so another reason to hope end of january stays far away. Could bore you guys with more stories, but would take too long
so tell me what's going on in ur lifes? ![]()

One week in Africa
It has been a while since I blogged, mainly because I moved to Africa for 5 months
I arrived well and I have been here for 8 days now. I never been further from home then were I am now. The country is amazing, the weather is perfect, loads of sun. The house I am staying in is really big (I sleep there with 10 other students). Really good people, most of them are very friendly.
I have been to the university I am studying at for five days. Haven't done much, just sorting out student, parking and library passes. But all of that is settled so next week I can start my project.
We did some cool stuff here allready: we planted some trees for some poor people, canoed on a lake, went to a club called manhatton, went to a big mall where you can buy everything that you would be able to get in Europe (even a 360
I was concidering it for a minute
). They also sold these, I think Jonas will like them ![]()
today we went paintballing. We played three games with paintball. First one was capture the flag (there was one flag in the middle and two teams). I killed two and I got killed twice and our team lost. The second game we played capture the base (2 flags, if one team gets the enemy flag to there own base they win) I got seven kills
I had the perfect spot on a tower and I flanked some guys, I only got killed once and our team won. The last game was elimination, each guy had two lives, I was really carefull and at the beginning I didn't get any kills, at the end I got two guys and I didn't die once, but I was out of bullets and out of money
It wasn't clear which team one
Paintballing was Great fun and I didn't do too bad
Tonight we will go BBQing, so that is gonna be fun too. I am hungry allready. I might post some photos later, so how have you guys been ![]()
Goodbye 360, hello Africa
Ok I am almost going to africa, one more night and then I will leave to the cradle of mankind. My summer holiday was pretty meh, cause I worked a lot. But I had some good times too. The last days I have been packing my stuff and playing my 360 a lot. Especially CoD4, that game still hasn't gotten old on me. I just prestiged for the 3th time
I have also replayed Gears of War with a GS friend, DarkGamingDude. We did pretty well, but he seemed to have some problems in the cart section in act 3
We had a blast though. I also played some GTA IV and GH3 with GameShark5, which was loads of fun too.
So yeah I am gonna miss playing 360 with my friends, but it is for the better good. Africa is gonna be insane. I have no idea what to expect, but I am really curious how things will work out. I am staying in a house with a pool, with 2 friends and 7 other students. So I hope they are good people
I am going on safari in the 3th week of September. I am looking forward to see some lions and maybe wrestle a few ![]()
My gaming will be put on hold, but I will bring my PSP so I can still game from time to time. But I got this feeling I won't miss it all that much, since there is so much other stuff going on to keep me busy. I wil still be on GS too, to keep in touch and to see what good games I am missing. I will keep you guys posted about the journey to Africa.
Take care everybody ![]()
I aM gOnNa KiLL Tim3
ok I am really . . . . REALLY bored. So I haven't blogged in some time, so what the heck. Here it goes
I finished GUN, a western game for the 360, it was an average game. It is nice I got to play it, but I am glad it was a budget game and I don't think I will replay it. So now I got space to start another game. I have several never-played-before games, like Paper Mario 2 and GTA: San Andreas. But nooo, I start yet another old game
This time around it is Bioshock. First time I played it I loved it, I missed some achievements though, so enough reason to visit rapture yet another time ![]()
Previous time I didn't get all tonics and recordings, so that is my goal this time around. O and I also decided to harvest all the little sisters
not a smart move since there is an 100 achievement for saving them all
So that is on my list too. There is also 2 achievements for playing on hard and with no vita chambers on (this means you must not die in the game). On a site they said it was not advicable to do all these things at once, it would be instant fail
so I guess I can replay the game another time in the future ![]()
I played for 2 hours and fell in love once again
the game is so beautiful and the atmosphere is very unique. I am gonna have a great time replaying this game in the next few weeks
I will also be playing forza 2 on the side, since I want all cars (I finished all races already
)
So to leave you guys on an epic note. I will be leaving to Africa in 4 weeks, for 5 months. Some of you already know this, but some might not. I am going on an internship for my study. I will go to the university of Johannesburg and I will get an assignment there. I am really excited to work there and to experience a new country and culture.
What does this mean gaming wise and GS wise. Well my console experience will be put on hold
I will miss the launch of the redesign for the 360 interface, with the avatars and stuff
but even worse: I will miss the launch of Gears of War 2. That is the second game I am looking forward to most, first is RE5 obviously. But I won't stop gaming for 5 months, it is in my genes, I would die without it
I will blow the dust from my PSP and take it with me on the trip, I think I will get some new games for it: God of War and a puzzle game which name has slipped my mind for the moment. GS wise you won't even notice I am somewhere different
I will bring a laptop and keep posting in your bloggies and put up blogs of my own. Just expect some nice pictures from the sunny south ![]()
Man this must be my longest blog ever and I bet nobody read every word of it, but hey you need something to kill your time right. Since time is death now, I think I will go and kill some Big Daddies now

OK so I have been away for a few days, let me tell ya where I been. So previous week it was my brothers wedding and that was tons of fun, great party and lots of drinks all around
The next day I went sailing, which is a great combination, first drink like a maniac and then go on a boat the following day. So you get the picture, me sailboat, ocean waves like crazy, me hanging over board poluting the sea with my puke. And that picture went on for 10 hours, what a way to spend your day
But after the sailing I arrived in England, I never been to England and I must say I really like the country and the people living there. At least the people I met, most of them were cheerful
and I love the accent
So we arrived in Ramsgate, spend a day there and then the following day we went to London. Saw Big Ben, Tower Bridge, been into the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and bunch of other places. We seen it all in one day, so we didn't spend much time in one place, just sight seeing. Still it was tons of fun and we all had a blast. The day after we went back to Holland and another sailing trip was ahead of me. This time it took us 18 hours, but luckily I didn't get seasick, mostly because the sea was much more quiet.
I am glad I am back at my safe own spot. Now I can get back to working my ass off and play video games
See you guys around
