What is happening?...
Where have all the great bands, and artists gone?! And why are all the bands that used to be great becoming mainstream?! I can understand that creating a new album and or just a song can take time. Yet when it comes down to it, it seems to me that the bands that were once great are coming out with just blah music, its mainstream!!! These songs are only gaining mass popularity because either the music video has a bunch of naked chicks in it or because people are just listening to it to fit in. Example, Green Day, fairly decent music, then to all of our surprises American Idiot came out and it was nothing but political mainstream music. Where is the music that once had so much meaning? Blah! Sorry just had to rant.
My biggest complaint!!!
This would be one of my biggest complaints about people who listen to music, which is everyone. Yeah you have the top ten songs this week, and the next week. Yet most people just hear the song on the radio and they hear it 100 times and then they decide to like it. If and when I listen to the radio, I may hear a song and say to myself " hey I found that song a month ago." I'll tell my friends and they'll say "oh we don't like it." Ooooh but when its on the radio and everyone else likes it, they then decide to jump on the bandwagon. I mean how do people think real artists, such as AFI, or Simple Plan come out with songs? It comes from a deeper meaning, or it's a story. I understand music is a pass the time thing or a just because to most people, but I wish people would look for what it means. People may not realize it but there are reasons for when your upset and you listen to a certain artist, its because probably at the time they wrote the song they were feeling what you are at that moment. UGH! That's my biggest complaint, don't just listen to the music, feel the music!
Just bored... Thought I'd say something!
So yeah 2:30am. I'm bored and thought I would say a little something about myself. First I'm so glad my friend introduced me to mp3.com now I finally have music lovers to talk with. I love honestly every genre of music! I have music from latin, country, rock, pop, punk, rap, classical, and I even have music in different languages, I have no clue what they are saying but it sounds amazing. I look for the deeper meaning in all music, music can explain exactly how I am feeling without me having to say a word. Music can also make or break my moods, music has a huge impact on my life. Mmmm.. that's about all I got.

It seems to me that no matter what kind of mood I am in these guys can sweep me away with first their lyrics and second the spine chilling beats behind them. This is the only band that I have found that every song has so much feeling in it. Every word to every line of their lyrics has so much feeling and emotion, it just takes my breath away. I love how they can go from Somewhere I Belong to Faint. This band never ceases to amaze me with their mind blowing powerful lyrics.

Being from St. Louis, I am proud to say that I am a Nelly listener. His first album rocked the streets of the Lou, then the Saint Lunatics smashed it again. I don't know how to explain it but his rap seemed to be different from anything you heard in that time. Going anywhere for a sports trip and hearing other teams listening to him in their locker room, it was unreal, we would just say your not from the STL, we are and we proudly represented Nelly anywhere we went. His albums rock and I love how he represents and never forgets where and what he came from.

The Used has always been a favorite of mine. I love how they can go from screaming the lyrics to a calm and yet otherwise still punk attitude. The new Lies for Liars by the Used is up there with their best stuff, but I believe that In Love and Death was their best and their first cd was their best, yet I am happy with the cd. They have some great songs that resemble the band I've been missing. The Bird and the Worm song is a great depiction of their dark and creepy sound I know they can have. I love the cd and keep it up, I'll always listen, I know you guys won't let me down.

Majority of AFI's song can take my emotions to a higher level. This Imperfect Time, Silver and Cold, Girls Not Grey, The Killing Lights, The Leaving Song Pt. 2, and the Missing Frame are just some of my favorites. They put everything into their music, although I will admit their last album seemed a bit mainstream but they still killed it in my mind. I love their music and their passion, they will always be my all-time favorite!!!

With her first hit song "I Kissed A Girl" becoming so popular, I believe it has opened up a huge door, for well... many girls who have those feelings. I'm not trying to start a controversial topic here, I just believe that since the gay community is starting to become more noticed, I think it's great that this song can come out and be so popular. It can and has opened that door for girls who want to say "I kissed a girl and I liked it."
