Post Memory Log #1
I decided that I would keep some posts, logged, in my Blog. (Yeah, has a silly ring to it.) This is the first to enter my mini data-base. Only because I just thought of it. I expect there will be add-ons in the near future. I will keep the Topic "Post Memory Log" for others that make the list.

"What games are out NOW is the real question. Who cares about this "future" you say about. MGS4 will probably get released on the 360 because hardly anyone owns the ps3."

Response -Um ... I care about the future of a console. I think anyone who thinks ahead (or at all) does.
I don't know why the forums light up when ever Sony has "any" announcement. I assume, that many are jaded for some reason. Maybe it's the cool thing for the younger gen ... I don't know. But what I do know is ... Time.
You can argue that MS has more games. But Sony is hitting it's first year. Let me say that again. Sony is hitting it's FIRST YEAR. While this statement is true, so is ... MS is on it's SECOND YEAR. Am I coming in clear? No? ... probably not, reason is not welcome here.
But the point is, time. There will be a time when it doesn't matter who has more games NOW, because they will be old. Both systems will have plenty of games. And time moves so fast, it will be here before you know it. Today will be gone and forgotten.
As a side note,
I find it odd that while Sony takes all the heat. The Wii is not bashed for games also. There are seldom that interest me. So my opinion gets in the why of an honest judgment. I do however, find that both MS and Sony, have Nintendo blown out of the water for future titles. Not that I think the Wii is a bad system, don't get me wrong. I just find it odd, that one system takes all the hits, while the other is looked at as innocent.
Here's a food for thought question. Ask your self, Is the Wii a stand alone console? Would you be happy with just it ... or do you need another console to back it up?

Magusi - Your post talks about time, and that, in time PS3 will have it's share of titles and will therefore be able to hold it's own, but I beg to disagree. First off, we are talking about games, who makes the games? The developers. Both MS and Sony have their first party teams, but the real strength of a console is the third party support. Third party developers look at this situation and they can very clearly see that there are only 2 types of console games this generation, Hi def (Xbox 360 and PS3) and the Wii games. The Wii is obviously less powerful, but it is actually VERY good that it has separated itself from the other two, because developers will have to work very specifically for their games to work well with that hardware.
For the high-end games, 360 and PS3, the developers have formed a trend to make the 360 version first because it's a very developer-friendly platform/largest userbase/arguably has the best graphics. This makes the future of third party support going two ways, less powerful Wii games, and then Xbox 360 games with a PS3 port of the 360 version. Now who's getting the shaft? It's not going to be the Wii games because developers will learn that ports of 360 games don't work well on the Wii and that exclusive Wii games will work the best for that system.

Response- You are correct on many points. I do not however, wish to have a debate (though I love them) on this board and flood it. So I will try to respond once, and semi-shortly.
I do agree that Nintendo was smart. We all like an affordable price and something new to play with is attractive. The fact that they are not on the same path as the other two, has insured there success. But the gamer in many of us likes to be feed, and Campbell's soup wont always cut it. If you get my point.
I disagree that we will always see ports from Xbox360 to PS3. As I stated already, MS has had an extra year for developers to tinker. Let alone, it's pretty spot on with a PC. So you have Developers at a comfort zone when making games for the Xbox360. But that can also be a double edge sword.
Developers will have maxed out the Xbox 360's power in a very short amount of time. That could be a few years, but that's still short. This will be because of it's easy ability to Develop for.
The PS3 maybe harder to work with, but that's because it's so different from the norm. It's still a very young system and there is very little experience with it's hardware. Once developers work out the kinks, it will become second nature. I have very little faith in the saying "it's to hard". I think Ego is the true excuse. What hot shot Developer wants to admit "I can't figure it out yet"? The more they work with it, the easier it will get. PS2 is a good example of this.
You are right to think that PS3 will be a dumping ground for ports. But it is also just as wise to think that it could be a power house, waiting to be unleashed. These are both very accurate assumptions. What will it be in the end? It all depends on sales. Sales = Developers, Games = Sales. So can Sony get out of the pickle? that's the true test.
