What would you rather do...?
I would love doing both, but just one suits fine as well.
1. Kicking Carlos Mencia square in the ****
2. Breaking Cammie Dunaway's wrist.
Nintendo's E3... Wow.
Dear God I nearly puked. Nintendo's e3 was ALL about the casual gamer. And who the hell is that Cammie b****? She ruined it only because she looked like Joan Cusak. The only things I was excited for was Wii MotionPlus and WiiSpeak. The only problems with both of these peripherals however is:
WiiSpeak
- Will cost $30. NOOOOOOOO I WAS SAVING UP FOR NINJABREAD MAN!!
- Is it really useful? There are only 2 games that are confirmed to use it (The Conduit, Animal Crossing) and I really dont think those lazy 3rd party developers will take advantage of it. Also, there are only.. what.. 20 games that have online? How many of those will use WiiSpeak? I doubt Nintendo will update its past games to take advantage of it.
- How will you hear your allies talking? Through the TV? That means Uh-oh. Have you ever tried playing Xbox live and trying to hear your friends through the TV only? FAILURE
Wii MotionPlus
- Don't get me wrong, this peripheral looks AWESOME, but there are several problems.
- LucasArts stated that Force Unleashed won't use MotionPlus.
- Nintendo has stated that the wiimotionplus wont work with past Nintendo games.
So there are my issues with the peripherals. Now for the rest of E3. Heres what I WANTED them to launch:
- Kid Icarus
- Donkey Kong PLATFORMER
- Zelda trailer
- Super Mario _____
- Storage Solution
- WiiWare games lineup
- New Channel(s)
- Wii Motionplus
- Sequel to Wiisports
Heres what they DID announce
- Shaun White Snowboarding! I really wanted to Joan Cusak to fall of the stage and break her wrist.
- Iwata makes a marketing speech. Viewers fall asleep.
- Reggie comes out and announces WiiMotionplus along with WiiSports: Resort.
- They Demo the game and Bill Trinen fails at sharpening the pencil.
- I dont remember if this is before or after the WiiSports demo, but Reggie says, "WE'RE TARGETTING FEMALES..." Lolz all around.
- Next, Nintendo demonstates the definition of EPIC FAILIURE. Reggie leaves the stage. Smoke fills... Drum roll.. I'm thinking Zelda, Mario, Kid Icarus, and then we get some DOUCHEBAG on the drums playing some random beat, then everyone craps their pants at how awful E3 was. They're "big" game was WiiMusic. After that there was a terrible demonstration where it just didnt work and everyone laughed when Miyamoto was hitting the drum even when he didnt move the wiiremote.
- Nintendo ends after just one hour. Actually, more like 30 mins, because they were too busy showing videos of kids smiling, grandparents gaming and the targetting of females.
However, since Miyamoto is a wizard, he afterwards announced a new Pikmin, Super Mario Galaxy sequel, New Zelda and New Super Mario Bros 2.
Shigeru saves the day once more.
And why hasnt anyone pulled a "giant enemy crab" on that guy from Microsoft's press conference who said "GUITAR HERO" and "METALLICA" way too seriously?
NyKo Perfect Shot Review (Light Gun)
Recently, the wii zapper was released in stores. Many found it fun, many hated it. I, for one do enjoy it, but definetely not as much as NyKo's Perfect Shot. The Perfect Shot is a light gun specifically made for games such as Ghost Squad, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and in some cases, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. It has a very nice design to it, a perfect weight, and it feels exactly like a Colt .45 pistol. Unlike the Wii Zapper, it has a trigger with a spring inside it, meaning it doesnt have that "squishy" feeling to it. The trigger is fast and responsive. There are also a set of sights which you can look down through which allows a more accurate experience, and its perfect for Ghost Squad's "no-reticule" mode. Once calibrated, you can easily take down enemiesby simply looking down the sights and firing, just like an actual gun fight. The only bad thing about this gun is that the wii remote is a little hard to take out, but the nunchuk pass-through makes up for it. The nunchuk-passthrough is a port at the bottom of the gun's handle that allows the user to insert the nunchuk without wrapping up all of the wires, so it is much easier to play a first person shooter.
Build:
Pros:
Very nice-looking design, excellent trigger, good weight, nunchuk pass-through.
Cons:
Seems a little weird taking out the wii remote, and it almost seems like you;ll break the gun.
Score: 9.0
Performance:
Pros:
Works perfectly for Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad, and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. Allows first-person shooters to be played without holding it with two hands, like the Wii Zapper.
Cons:
You can't access the A button easily
Score: 9.5
Value
The Perfect Shot costs only $14.99, and is at much better value than other 3rd Party guns. It still isn't as cheap as the Wii Zapper which is only 20.00 for the gun AND a good game, but its not like NyKo could have made a software for it.
Overall, the Perfect Shot is the BEST light gun out there. It makes the game you play much better and is better than the zapper. You can buy it at Amazon or at Buy.com
FINAL SCORE: 9.5
