PSP and PSP GO
First I don't like the look of the PSP GO, its weird ![]()
I wasn't very much impressed, not much going on with the games apart from Hannah Montana xD. Seriously though Peacewalker and Resident Evil Portable did look quite good. The video for Peacewalker was pretty funny with the 2 snakes hiding in the box together. The rest just seemed like new releases of your average PSP games.
On PS3 though, wow. That really surprised me, I wasn't expecting this line-up at all.
Multi-plat: Assassin's Creed 2 and Final Fantasy XIII both looked very good.
Exclusives:
Uncharted 2, looks just like Uncharted Drake's fortune but in a city instead of the jungle, trailer was full of action and I liked the look of it a lot.
MAG, I'd never heard of this before but 128 vs 128 online battles, Holy Crap!
Gran Tourismo 5, very nice graphics, not sure if it was in game they looked so good.
Agent, they didn't reveal anything about this, but its Rockstar!
ModNation Racers, I love little big planet and how you can create your own levels and customize just about everything and this looks like it will be such a fun game. The level creator looked very user friendly but still produced a very nice track. I want this so much right now.
Final Fantasy XIV, as soon as it was announced there were some comments doubting its exclusiveness, in regards to FFXIII going Multi, but the trailer looked amazing, and I'll buy it on PS3 regardless.
The Last Guardian, its essentially Ico 3, and I love Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, the trailer looked amazing and I can't wait for this.
God of War 3, finally got to see some gameplay and it looked amazing, it made me want to dust off my God of War and play through again! I didn't want the video to stop!
Motion Controller, not more competition for the Wii! this actually looked very cool, I wonder how much it will cost though, hmmm...
Nintendo Conference
They kicked it off by saying Mario has done it all, Mario in 3d is great but a 4th dimension is the future...Then with the announcement of a New Super Mario Bros. on wii I was expecting something special, but 4 player co-op is not what I'd call 4th dimension :/. new features pick up and carry/throw other players, propeller suit looks like a pikmin costume and lets players jump higher and float down slower, oh and she said something about bonus points on the flagpole...
wii fit plus, 15 new balance games, not my thing but the Mario style game that lets you "run a mile in mario's shoes" looked the best of the bunch in the mini games.
Wii motion plus, a new sense of realism in gameplay! Well it didn't look all that good to me, so NATAL>Wii motion plus. End of.
I was a little dissapointed with the games on show in the first three quarters, I know that Nindendo played the "Something for everyone" card but seriously, It's not worth going to a buffet if all the food tastes like crap.
sifting through the rubbish, there were a few good/potentially games in there, new wii sports, final fantasy crystal bearers wii, kingdom hearts 358/2 days ds, mario & luigi bowsers inside story ds, Mario vs Donkey kong minis march again ds, wario ware diy ds.
Also why they brought in a guy who can hardly speak English to talk statistics that no one cares about its just silly, that part really dragged.
OMG!! GOLDEN SUN!! HOLY CRAP!! I love Golden Sun so this was great news for me.
I now believe facebook WILL conquer videogame world...
I think they really saved the show from being total FAIL at the end with Super Mario Galaxy 2, Conduit, Resident Evil, The Darkside Chronicles, Dead Space Extraction and Metroid Other M
EA Conference
I just saw EA's conference, I thought it was quite disappointing. Firstly because of the way it was set out, all the annoying games were the first to be shown and they really dragged too. Second they didn't show anywhere near enough footage that I would have liked of Mass Effect 2, Crysis 2 or Dante's Inferno.
Two new MMO's APB and Old Republic both looked good, but not really my thing.
The Madden NFL 10 and the online franchising seems interesting.
I was impressed by Sabotage and Dragon Age Origin. Fight Night Round 4 looked good but I'd seen that before...I kind of want to get Brutal Legend after the conference too.
MS Conference
I was pretty impressed with it. Forza 3, Call of Duty AW2, Final Fantasy 13, Alan Wake, Left For Dead 2 & Splinter Cell Conviction all looked really good.
Also Metal Gear Rising and Halo Reach are two games that they didn't say much about, but Raiden is back!!
Not sure what I thik of NATAL yet, I don't really like any of the motion games that I've played on wii, but if its done right then it has the potential to be better than the wii, just look at that milo video.
Castle Crashers
CASTLE CRASHERS!!!
This game is off the chain! I love it ;D Co-op beat 'em up/rpg at its finest, well worth the 1200 price tag imo! Love the art style of it all, and am just generally pumped up with how good its turned out to be. The only bad thing I have to say about this is its online, it is very glitchy and doesn't work properly, so far I've only actually got into 1 ranked arena match the rest I keep disconnecting from. Setting up co-op story matches has worked like a dream though..hope they sort out the arena/all you can quaff matches soon.
GREEN KNIGHT!
Braid
Braid is the best arcade game I've played since geometry wars. I'm loving the graphic style of this game, and the puzzles, although they make my head explode, are still really, really fun!
Next week I'm getting castle crashers which is another of the summer arcade releases that I've got high expectations for.
Also I've started using giantbomb.com now, my username there is Alynablaze if you want to be friends on there just drop me a request ;D
Seriously...
Yes!!! I finally got it!!!

I've had 10,000 kills for a while now and I was playing ranked matches yesterday and at the end of a match the "seriously..." achievement randomly popped up
I had to get over 11,500 kills before it actually registered! Its quite nice to actually have it now though, the way I was going I thought I'd never get it!
I'm trying to get the "This is annex" achievement now, which is a pain because it seems every game I play my whole team will quit and I end up playing on my own, which isn't fun at all
Oh well, just wanted to put that out there...
Also I've ordered Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Ring Of Fates from play.com:

It was only £9.99 and I fancied getting a game for my DS seing as I don't play it at all at the moment.
Cooking guide
I don't know much about this game, but I want to know: Will it really teach me how to cook??
has anyone got it? If so what is it like.
I lam rubbish at cooking so this may help me although I would be nervous using my DS as a recipe book incase I got food all over it, or dropped it etc.
What is up with all these non-game ds titles and what will be the next "training" title?
Street Fighter IV
Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you will know that Street Fighter IV is making the transition to 3D rendered characters and backgrounds, but will still play in traditional 2D street fighter fasion With the new 3D and 2D gameplay it is being dubbed as the "2.5D" effect.
First off I'd like to point out that I love street fighter games and at first I was unsure how a SF game would play in 3D form but from taking a look at recent footage, Street Fighter IV looks amazing! I'm not going to go into the gameplay, because I can't really judge it by videos without playing it, so I'm going to talk about the characters.
The game includes The original "World Warriors" Blanka, Chun Li, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Guile, Ken, Ryu, Zangief, Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison from Street Fighter II. New fighters Abel, Crimson Viper, El Fuerte, Rufus and Seth have also been confirmed. Looking at that roster Chun Li and Viper are the only two female fighters confirmed for this game but producer Yoshinori Ono has commented, "It isn't finalised yet, but we're trying to use all the characters from Street Fighter II ' Turbo, and we're obviously cooking up new characters as well." some sources suspect that Cammy and Sakura will be added to the roster at some point.
The New Fighters
--------------------Abel-------------------------------Crimson Viper-----------------------
----------------El Fuerte----------------
That is the official art of three of the new characters, if you go to the street fighter website there are character bios on there and links to in game pictures and footage which are really cool.
I was glad to see that 2 of my favorite characters were still in this game, Vega and Chun Li.

I think the character models look fantastic! The characters and environments are all rendered in 3D and have a cel-shaded effect which gives a hand-drawn look.
The fighting I've seen from the videos looks IMMENSE! Something I found interesting during the fighting was how the 2D plane they were fighting on seemed to pan and rotated to follow the fighters.

I'm just gutted that its arcade only until next year, from looking at the footage I'm really hyped for this game already....So where's the nearest arcade?!?
Well that's about it, I'll leave you with this amazing quote!
" WHEN YOU PLAY STREET FIGHTER IV YOU'LL FEEL SO GOOD YOU'LL ACTUALLY WANT TO FALL TO YOUR KNEES. THAT'S WHY IT'S SO IMPORTANT TO FIND A CAB YOU CAN SIT DOWN IN TO PLAY " LEO TAN CAPCOM
peace out ;D
Grand Theft Auto IV: 29:46:22, 63.75%
29 hours, 46 minutes, and 22 seconds.
That was the time that I completed the main story of GTA IV, and I just managed to get the complete the game in under 30 hours achievement. My game progress was 63.75% so there is still quite a lot left that I can do, which is a good thing because I'm not bored of this game!
I don't think I'm going all out for the 100% completion achievement though, because collecting the hidden packages/pigeons doesn't seem much fun.
After finishing the main story I can say this is probably the best story in a game that I have played for a long time.
I think this quote pretty much sums up how I'm feeling about this game right now: All those early reviews, where everyone tossed out the highest score they could give, left me scratching my head a bit in the game's early hours. But I get it now. I understand." - Jeff Gerstman.
GTA IV, oh yeah!
Daztheninja, CravingWinter and myself went to the midnight release for GTA IV at Gamestation, even though Me and Daz had it preordered from GAME, but we got some really cool display art off the guy who worked there, so it was woth it
.
Its the best game I've played on the Xbox 360 to date, and maybe even the best game on any console I've ever played. The graphics are off the chain and the gameplay mechanics/physics are immense! I just love the rag doll system. Online mode is really fun to play with friends and I can see myself playing this for a loong time. I've put about 13 hours into the single player, my progress is around 24% of the storyline completed and I played some free play/deathmatch multiplayer which was really fun.
If you don't already have this game then I'd recommend it as a must own title!
This Is TAG!!
On the gaming front, I've managed to finish God of War: Chains of Olympus on psp, it was really fun and definetly one of the better games out on psp! I'm currently still playing through Crisis core, I havn't really made much progress though
.
Sims 2 Castaway

My brother got this before we went on holiday, and I've started playing it recently, its not all that bad to be honest, I wasn't expecting much from it but its been quite fun so far.
Also, I have been tagged by Zoe256, so here are 5 things that (err..I asume) you don't know about me:
1. I'm in my first year of university, studing Quantity Surveying and one day I will create my own Grand Designs, like on the tv show!
2. I'm afraid of giving blood, I don't have a phobia for needles though, I have no problem with injections, and I got injected for typhoid to go on holiday recently, its just when its a needle, and sucking blood OUT of me I just can't stand it...eww. I got to stop talking about this now, its freaking me out just thinking about it ![]()
3. I always leave everything until the last minute, whether it be getting ready to go out or doing my assignments for cla.ss I think I work better under pressure though so it doesn't really affect my grades.
4. I sometimes get obsessed with the latest movie/game/tv show that I watch/play, and I have to find out everything about it and its characters, download pictures, wallpapers, music etc. Yeah, I'm a bit of a nerd, lol.
5. I used to collect golly wog badges with marmalade tokens, lol. Fair play, I loved those little things!
Well thats it, so Daztheninja & McFry, if your reading this, thats right, I'm tagging you, mwhahaha...ha.
Crisis core first impressions and more
Got back from holiday, and I thought I would have finished god of war by now, but I ended up fininishing monster kingdom jewel summoner instead, it was really fun right up to the end, but now theres an extra mode that basically makes you re-visit dungeons you've already been to and kill the boss again, which was pretty lame because I really enjoyed it up until that. I've put about an hour and 40 minutes into god of war so far, the graphics are really nice, I've noticed a few frame rate/camera issues but nothing that makes it unplayable, I'll probably finish it this week.
Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core
Okay, so Im a big fan of Final Fantasy games and I own a PSP, so me getting Crisis Core is a no brainer. So far I've only played the first hour or so which was mosly packed full of cut scenes, and not much gameplay, but like any story driven game you just have to ride it and I'm sure a great story will unfold! Going to get into this a little more later on, but my first impressions of it are still good, nice graphics, good voice acting and battle system.
Also I've put a new picture of me on my profile..and no I'm not naked in it, just got my shirt off ![]()
well thats it for now ![]()
Huzzah!
Easter holiday has began for me as I handed in my last assignment for this term, finally I can get back into playing games, haha ![]()
I've got a few more games since my last blog, most notabley are: Lost Odyssey, Animal Crossing: Wild World, God of War: Chains of Olympus.
Lost Odyssey
I've onlyplayed about an hour or so of this game at the moment, the graphics were really nice and the battle system seemed okay too. I couldn't really get into the story, and I hope I will be able to over the next few weeks because it seems like a really good game.
Animal Crossing: Wild World
I got this game because I was looking for a game I could play on my ds as it was going unused, and I have read that this is a good game. From what I've played so far it is quite fun and is a nice game to just pick up and play)
God of War: Chains of Olympus
I haven't actually played this game yet, but it looks really good, I've read that its very short though, which is a bit of a shame, however if its anything like the previous games it will be a blast!
well thats it for now, I've pre-ordered GTA4 on Xbox360 and I'm hoping to get Army of 2 before long as it look really good plus I always like a good co-op game!
I'm off to play some games now ;D
DMC4 and other news
Well, I've been working on my assignment for uni this morning, and I've managed to finish the first part, which was a to make simple spreadsheet in excel to calculate a building company's monthly and cumalative expenditure, but I've got the 1000 word report left to do now, and I relly can't find the motivation
Oh well, I'll get 'round to doing it..eventually
.
In other news, this week I bought 2 new games, Devil May Cry 4 and The Godfather.

Devil May Cry 4 is really fun so far, I got up to the 8th level last night, but then I stopped playing because I din't want to get too far into the game, wanted to make it last longer that 2 days
. The first thing you notice about this game is that it looks beautiful, the environments are stunning and the character models are all really well designed. The puzzles are a big part in this game so far I havn't found any frustrating, it is mostly about finding a special items or using Nero's devil bringer and objects, and so on. Thats another thing, Nero's Devil Bringer, I really like it, and have been using it a lot during combat, I love how each boss has a weak point and that it can be exploited using the throws.

The Godfather, I've been planning on getting this for a while, I had it on my original xbox but never finished it, so I saw it at a decent price and decided to pick it up. Its nothing special, but it does look better on 360, and its gereally a fun game to just pick up and play.
going to play some more DMC4 now, byee)
Devil May Cry 4
Well, I've been playing the devil may cry 4 demo this week, and am totally in love the way it has turned out. I put my pre-order in on the 360 version before i tested the game, and at first I wasn't sure how it would control, but it works great in my opinion.

I really enjoyed playing the demo, the level played out really well, and the boss was a challenge at first, but once I started timing my dodges to avoid his attacks, and realised I could jump up and use the throw on it when its flames burned out, it seemed a lot easier. Also I thought Nero seemed pretty cool (I was half expecting another MGS2 incident... *coughraidencough*) I know he didn't say much in the demo, but his short one liner - I burn easily, never tan - brought a smile to my face, oh and not to mention his devil bringer ability was a pretty sweet feature.
All in all, I cant wait until next week, this game is going to be ****c DMC action!
[[edit: lol, it filtered out cla.ssic xD]]
Bungie Delivers Again!
my thoughts on the beast that is halo 3:
Multiplayer plays like a dream, although it is largely the same as the previous installments, Bungie has smoothed out every corner and removed the niggles to craft one of the most balanced pieces of gaming in history. Say goodbye to another few hundred hours.
---IMPROVING ON THE ORIGINAL---
-Bigger is better: Halo 3 features battles of an unprecedented scale.
-Toys for boys: The new gadgets add an extra layer of tactical depth to combat.
-Forging steel: Halo 3's most secretive feature has revealed itself to be an ingenious beast. A map editor that allows you to manipulate vehicles, weapons and spawn points, all in real time!
---TIMELINE HIGHLIGHTS---
-10 mins: The opening cut scene is now done and dusted, you have had time to adjust and are ready to kick some ass. Move out troops!
-3 hours: The games first big set piece is over, and it was incredible. Visuals are great and the game has impressed s far but the story is only beginning to unravel.
-3 days: The campaign mode is long gone, but now your neck deep in sublime multiplayer and there's still legendary mode and the skulls to keep you going.
---TAKING GAMING ONLINE---
-Play together: Four-player co-op is a stunning achievement.
-Use the forge: That the forge can be used during online games is almost unbelievable.
-Assault: Thats right, the assault rifle makes a welcome return, but not at the expense of the battle rifle!
So, is it the complete package? Very nearly.
Halo 3 is a triumph, a magnificently designed, endlessly playable video game, but not the second coming.
Combat refined, combat perfected, but not combat evolved.
now playing
thought i'd share some brief thoughts on the games im playing.
guild wars: eye of the north / got the expansion pack to the guild wars prophacies game, havn't really done much with this, mainly because i can't get to the extra content, not high enough level, lol. probably won't play this for a while because im not really into guild wars much and i want to progress though some of my xbox 360 games.
blue dragon / i havn't played much of this yet, but the graphics are stunning! the music seems reminisent of finanl fantasy which is a plus, and the battle system seems fine. hope to play more of this soon..
bioshock / again, stunning visuals. tried it in easy mode, and it really was easy, just trying to find the motivation to play straight through in hard mode now.
lost planet / picked this game up not really expecting much from it, but was supprised. i really liked the campain and the multiplayer is really fun, love the rocket launcher matches!
rainbow six vegas / had a lot of fun with this game, only stopped playing it because i got obsessed with lost planet! i've only been progressing in online game modes, so i'll go through in single player soon.
the darkness / at first i wasn't too sure if i liked it or not, but it grew on me the more i played it, not my favourite of games, but a good game none the less. got 4 achievements left to get, so could possibly start playing this again.
gears of war / the old favourite, eh..not really much to say about this, brilliant game, spoiled by idiots online and terrible lag. slowly approaching the 6,000/10,000 kills now, will i ever get that seriously achievement!?!
