I Need Help!

I've just started buying some PC games recently and I have a few questions. I'm really more of a console gamer and there are somethings I need to know.

1.I recently bought Warcraft 3 and it's expansion and was wondering if you had to have them both installed from the beginning. I know really its a matter of preference but will it affect my enjoyment af the original game if I install the expansion straight away? Should I play through the original game first and then install the expansion or doesn't it matter?

2. With Warcraft 3 I've seen a lot of patches for the game. Do I need these patches and if so do I need them all?

3. Are mods any good?

Thanks for the help in advance.

1. You need them both installed (install Warcraft 3, then the expansion). It won't lessen your experience, I can imagine you can still play the campaigns how you like, be it the original set, then the extras but you'll have the added benefits of the tweaks made to the game.

2. Get the lastest patch (highest version number).

3. Dunno, haven't tried, I don't own the game.

1 yes both need to be installed, the original is a little bit less then the expansion, cause an upgrade is mostly just better, but still fun none the less. (longer story and stuff then expansion)

2. latest patch should help

3. mods are fun, but they bore fast.

I would think that if you installed them both, when you played campaign missions from the original game it wouldn't include the things from the expansion, or at least that's my experience with Command and Conquer. Also get the latest patch, it will fix bugs and stuff.

As for mods, I am not a mod person. I like to enjoy the game exactly how the developer meant for it to be played, but that's just me.

Install both, get the latest patch, and only get the mods if you really want to.

About Me

I am the Ploysicness. Some may know me as QWERTY-PERTY, but i decided a change was in order... Is that ok... as a matter of fact it isn't. (If you know where that phrase is from I have great respect for you). So are you down with the Polysicness? I hope so because its quite good for your health. I'll tell you a little about myself... I live just outside London (UK), and its quite a boring place to live. I like Tekken, GTA, Final Fantasy and Timesplitters to name but a few. I've been playing games sice I was about 5 when I was given a SEGA Megadrive (Genesis) with the original Sonic the Hedgehog game. I am also a renowned scientist in the field of neurogamer biology, the study of the effect of video games on the human brain. In my spare time I play my guitar and listen to music. I like Metallica, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oasis, Blur, Supergrass, Jaga Jazzist, White Stripes, System of a Down, cKy, The Seatbelts, Tenacious D, Presidents of the USA, Slipknot... and the list goes on and on. I am also a big fan of the Suburban all-stars and Midnight Brown. So thats me. Not all of it's true but we're all liars on the inside. So be prepared... it'll be with you soon...
