One of my favourite bands of all time, probably the world's best band if you're going by how many they've influenced, how good their music is and how great an impression they left on the face of pop-culture, of course if you're going by how trendy the sunglasses of the lead singer are it's hands-down u2. The Beatles were a group of 4 amazingly talented men who could not only write brilliant music, but also were miserably funny.
I wasn't that into the beatles untill a couple of months ago when I made friends with a kindly chap by the name of Hugo Rowsome, he ranted about the beatles and their greatness, I just had to check them out. I did check them out, and what's more I got hooked.
Great band, even if you're not a fan check out the film Yellow Submarine, it's a fine piece of work.

There have not been that many albums released in 2004 that I've enjoyed, to be quite honest there have only really been 3; "You Are The Quarry" by Morrissey, "Franz Ferdinand" by Franz Ferdinand & the work of art that is Brian Wilson's "SMiLE".
The Reason this is my favourite album of 2004, and quite possibly ever, is that it has such an interesting history of being aborted and restarted so many times.
I'm only 13 so I didn't have to wait for this album for a very long time but I've read about it's history and it's quite remarkable.
I think that this album is a timeless classic and has anyone really been able to match the brilliance of "Surf's Up", "Good Vibrations" and "Wonderful"?
I love this album and predict I'll be listening to it for years to come. Brian Wilson is simply a genius.
