Geoff Tate is one of the few rock artists whose voice is not only spectacular, it is passionate and dramatic, and his love for music soars out with his lyrics to captivate the listener in a way that mosts artists these days could only dream of doing. Throughout his body of work, Geoff has displayed his talent solidly, given live performances to be envied by other "acts" in their scale and simple grandeur. His voice rings of the operatic tones obviosly heard in his youth from his aunt, and he carries that training with him onto the stage.
I have yet to see another artist completely immerse themselves into the lyrics and the music as a single unit the way that Geoff does. This album is worth listening to, and if you cannot get the music the first time out, don't give up, it will grow on you and mesh into you in a way that only Geoff is capable of.
