School is out

I'm pretty happy with my grades and now I get a break.
Got the lathe on the table and mounted which took some work as it's 240 lbs, also picked up some stock to turn. I've still got a little to do before I can use it, I'll probably do that tomorrow since I'm really tired now. Robotics season is approaching which excites and terrifies me. I'm always ready, but I don't feel like the rest of the team is.

Lathe recieved

Initial inspection yields some backlash on all the lead screw and two of the screws holding the gearbox cover on fell out during shipping. This displeases me. Hopefully I can find a method to take some of the backlash out, but it shouldn't be a problem unless I'm doing really precision work. I'll have to break it down and clean off all the corrosion resistant goop before I play around with it, so probably nothing till Thursday.

School So Far

So I've had my first test in all my classes except Physics, which doesn't have tests only "quizzes". I guess the professor thinks calling it a quiz will makes it sound less intimidating or something? Doesn't matter, we know what they really are. Anyways I got an A on my first physics "quiz" and a B on my first calc test. I'd prefer better in calc, but I guess I can't complain. I had my first history test today which seemed to go pretty well, but there was some stuff I wouldn't really have expected on it. I seem to have a lot more homework this semester than I'm used to especially in physics. It's starting to interfere with my GS leveling. I've got a lot I'll have to do when I get home tonight, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Just a note about robotics to wrap this up. The robotics team has started meeting for this year and it's been kinda frustrating for me because I feel like we're not progressing as fast as we should be. I'm having some trouble dealing with the new kids at least for now, but some of them seem like they'll be a great asset to the team. I'm additionally worried about building up the knowledge base of the younger members for the competition nest year because I don't feel like we can do an adequate job of it on our current schedule.

PS the formatting on my blog is always whack.

Twenty One

I guess this would be more exciting if I was less boring.
And stop getting banned on my birthday, it's bringing me down.
In other news I've been feeling pretty good lately which is good because I'm frequently depressed and stuff. School and robotics seem to be going pretty well so far. Work is kinda meh. I'd like it better if I didn't have to work the full day Friday I think I'll have to plan my school schedule better next semester to get around this sort of thing.

Well, that was a dumb way to get my first moderation in 6 months

Note to self: if you thought it was a bad idea to include it in the original post don't edit it into that post later.
