Television - 2008/2009

In addition to True Blood - I thought I'd blog about the other shows I'm enjoying this year.

I just discovered Lie To Me and love it. I like shows that make me think. I also love the Mentalist, Fringe, and the 11th Hour. They all seem to have that singular person who saves the day - might be a theme: a behavioral psychologist, a mentalist, a scientist, and an insane scientist. The fact that they are all flawed people who are always right makes them even more appealing to me.

I also loved My Own Worst Enemy - a very clever well done show that started late and unfortunately didn't get an audience.

I love Life and hope it survives because it is also so well done with engaging characters. I can't get into Life on Mars after having been a fan of the British version but I suspect anyone seeing it for the first time would enjoy it. Sorry to see Eli Stone cancelled. It has been slow this year and I'm not sure why - I just wish it could have had more time.

I got into Lipstick Jungle this season and actually purchased the whole 1st season. I must be a jinx because it was cancelled shortly after I found it. The same thing happened to Pushing Daisies which I found for the first time this year. If you have a favorite show, drop me a note and I'll try not to watch it.

I have not seen Lie to Me I saw an article about it here on tv.com though it's another procedural right? I don't know how many of those I can watch lol. I love The Mentalist, Fringe and True Blood, I didn't like 11th Hour or My Own Worst Enemy. I couldn't get past the pilots for those shows. MOWE I thought was hammy and over done. 11th Hour I thought was just tripe. The pilot was like some stupid thinly vailed moral statement: oh you can't make human clones cos its wrong and if you try they will die in utero and it will be gross. Which is a lot of crap because if human clones were made it would be just as easy and safe as all the cow and horse clones that are being made now. So that annoyed me. Also it's based on a cancelled British show did you know that?

My new favourite show has to be Chuck but there is already rumours that its on the rocks so I don't think you could jinx it too.
