Every month Lindsay Lohan deals with something new in her personal life, and she combats the press as they put her life on display for all to see. So much so that recent articles discuss the "overexposure of Lindsay Lohan." At only 18 years old, she's dealing with a lot while in the limelight. Let's take a look at a few of the things in her personal and professional life that the press has brought to the forefront to see how she handled herself. Who wins this time? Lindsay or the press that stalks her?
Lindsay attempts time and again to get the press to stay out of her family's business. She tries not to discuss their troubles at length in order to avoid unwanted attention to the issues. When Lindsay was in the hospital recently due to a mysterious high fever, the press reported that she refused to let her father visit her. This was probably a good move, because if it had happened, who knows what news story that visit would have sparked.

OK, pull up a chair. I'm about to list the recent run-ins that Mr. Lohan has had with the law. Last summer the police arrested him for allegedly giving a brother-in-law a beating with a shoe at their family home. Yes, you read that right, he beat the guy up with a shoe. In April he was arrested for not paying a $3,800 hotel bill. Moving on to September, he pleaded guilty to beating up a sanitation worker in New York. Dina Lohan, Lindsay's mom, took legal action to get a restraining order against Michael after he reportedly threatened to kill the whole family. There are also reports that in November Mr. Lohan chased Lindsay down after she showed up to watch her younger brother Dakota play in his soccer game. Even more recently, Mr. Lohan again violated the restraining order by showing up at Dina Lohan's residence. He was later arrested for that violation as well as for suspicions of driving under the influence.

The story goes that Lindsay and Wilmer started dating before Lindsay turned 18, but they kept their relationship hush-hush as she was under age. Once she hit the big 1-8 though, their relationship was suddenly large and in charge. The cameras followed the two everywhere and it seemed their relationship was being lived completely in front of the press. When the pair called it quits, the cameras still didn't back off. Despite the harassment, the two are not crying in their soup--both have been spotted at multiple hot spots partying into the night, separately, of course.
B
Rumor has it that Wilmer broke off the relationship due to Lindsay's temper and jealousy of his female friends. Who knows exactly what happened...and honestly folks, who really cares?

Lindsay says: Yes they are real. Next subject please.
A
The press says: We're not too sure, so let's keep talking about it until we completely run the subject into the ground. Better yet, the MP3.com community already seems to have the subject covered. Yawn.

According to reports, Lindsay has always planned to include professional singing in her career. She has contributed songs to the soundtracks for Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Mean Girls, and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. On December 7 she released her debut album Speak. Her first single off the album, "Rumors," debuted within the bottom half of the Billboard Top 40 mainstream chart.
B-
Lohan's album has not received the warmest of reviews thus far. Many call it a suit-powered machine or a marketing ploy. Others say Lohan is just using her acting skills to play the part of a teenage pop star. Lindsay also recently pulled an Ashlee by using a backing track and possibly lip-synching a bit while performing on Good Morning America. Lohan's rep says, ''The first song had some background. It's a little more rock and roll and needed it there. It's about how you make the song sound exactly like the record." In a recent interview Lohan had said, ''I wanna be able to sing stuff to show that I have a voice and I can actually project,'' she said. ''And I wanna find things I'm not gonna have to lip sync to, and that, when I sing it in the studio, it's something that I could also sing live and sound just as good as I did on the CD.'' If her less-than-live performance on Good Morning America is true, it looks like maybe the critics have seen through Lindsay's "Rumors" to what is really going on.
B
Yes, this started a long time ago and we are all probably tired of hearing about it, but since it keeps going on and on we might as well mention it here. The rift between Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff seems to have started over a boy. Go figure. Apparently Lohan was dating pop star Aaron Carter when Duff also began seeing him. As you can imagine this did not go over well with Lohan, and so the long-running tiff began.
B-
Duff tells the press that Carter made it seem like he and Lohan had broken up. It has been reported that Lohan showed up to the afterparty for the premiere of Duff's film Cheaper by the Dozen and that Duff tried to have Lohan thrown out. Duff denies this, saying she doesn't even remember seeing Lohan at the premiere. She also contends that Lohan talks badly about her every chance she gets, but that Duff barely even knows her. In Duff's self-titled CD, which was released in September, is a track called "Haters." The press wasted no time in proclaiming that the track must be about Lohan.
