A Big Guitar

Please feel free to review any song you download. A Big Guitar was formed when I bought my first guitar in 1978, I just didn`t know it yet. At that time, my most major influence was Eddie Van Halen. Even though my stuff doesn`t sound a lot like EVH, I was still influenced. Soon after I got into other bands like Journey. I subsequently found Mike Oldfield and liked his progressive, yet melodic style. In 1984, I, then, worked at a now defunct record store/chain and my eyes opened a lot wider to the variety of music that`s out there. Since we would continuously play albums (then vinyl) from just about every artist from which we could crack open an album. In that process, I heard some really great stuff and also some of the worst music you could imagine. In the early 90`s I dabbled in writing material with a 4 track recorder I purchased. It worked ok, but was a real hassle to edit tracks and lay down additional instruments. So, I used for about a year and then abandoned it. I bought a Fostex hard drive recorder. That one also proved less than fruitful. From those two attempts I did record material and put them up on the old mp3.com (which is now replaced by this site). I have those mp3`s somewhere. Fast forward to today. Today I work with Cubase and AcidMusic. I record with an Alesis multimix firewire unit. Not quite ProTools, but also not price tagged that way either. My style is melodic and progressive (in some ways). I like to mix genres including electric and acoustic guitar with synthesizers. I prefer synthesizers with a warmer less bitey sound. You won`t find much trance or heavy dance type music here. I prefer an eclectic mix of various styles, genres and melodies. I am also an independant composer, producer, guitarist and keyboardist. I create, record, produce and release all of my own material in my own studio. I am available for hire in studio work or collaboration. My songs are available for licensing, leasing and royalty-free purchase. Please contact me via email or through the forum for more details. Enjoy!
