Of all the good White bands to come out of New Orleans in the early days, the NORK was the subtlest, the most original, and the most influential. It also made the first multiracial recordings, with Jelly Roll Morton (included here). It says a good deal about the NORK's talents that the tracks on which Morton plays don't particularly stand out.
