{$Barry Adamson}'s first full-length album, {^Moss Side Story} is still unequivocally his best. Elements of {\rock}, voices from news reports, blood-curdling wordless female vocals (courtesy of {\experimental}/{\punk} diva {$Diamanda Galás}), lounge keyboards, and swirling funereal {\ambient} music are interwoven on this taut and compelling, almost continuous imaginary "soundtrack." The result is a sinister and edgy soundscape that's as gripping as any black-and-white thriller.
