Autocannibalism is loud, grubby, three-chord rock, like The Saints might have sounded if they had originated in Seattle. The six tracks -- again many of them extended exercises -- feature Kuepper in classic power-trio plus sax format. There are two absolute standouts -- "You Can't Please Everybody" and "Red Aces," both 8-minute pieces featuring demented guitar riffs that bludgeon the listener into submissive delirium. Elsewhere, the material gets somewhat repetitive and unimaginative. There are exquisite moments here, but Kuepper saves more of his better ideas for "Black Ticket Day."
