All of his sessions as a leader (with the exception of his duets with Buddy Burton) are on this very definitive CD. The music ranges from piano solos (early examples of boogie-woogie and stride) to blues records with singers Viola Bartlette and Alexander Robinson; combo performances with Blythe's Sinful Five, the Midnight Rounders, and Jimmy Bertrand's Washboard Wizards; and piano duets with Charlie Clark.
