Recordings from 1958-63 form the bulk of this budget album released in 1969. "Each Minute Seems a Million Years," from Locklin's 1965 album Sings Eddy Arnold, is the latest cut chronologically. Typical of a budget album, the songs are non-hit versions of classic tunes like "Maple on the Hill" and "The Great Speckled Bird." A country version of the pop and R&B hit "Ivory Tower" is the only selection that is even remotely surprising. A pair of Irish and Mexican flavored songs are in keeping with the tendency toward ethnic material Locklin exhibited on his thematic albums of the '60s. All but one of these recordings are included on Bear Family's Please Help Me I'm Falling box set.
