Christmas Cookies features the Oak Ridge Boys' distinctive down-home harmonies on a combination of traditional carols and contemporary holiday fare. The 14 tracks offer something for everyone, from the playfulness of "Jingle Bells" and "Uncle Luther Made the Stuffin'" to the reverent solemnity of "Away in a Manger" and "Blessed Be the Day (Of Our Saviour's Birth)," in which the quartet revisits its gospel harmony singing roots. The end result will appeal not only to those interested in country-pop, but also to those who enjoy a balanced combination of pleasant holiday music.
