Critic's Review

3.5 out of 5 stars Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
Dwight Yoakam's classic take on country music, combined with more than a little bit of rock & roll attitude and a sharp, clear vision of how it all fits together, made him one of the more interesting of the new traditionalists to emerge in the 1980s. This collection provides a glimpse of all that, but only a glimpse, and it is simply way too short to be anything but a truck-stop purchase. Included are two fine Yoakam originals, "Guitars, Cadillacs" and the wonderful "I Got You," and covers of Johnny Horton's "Honky Tonk Man," Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," and Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me."
