Album: Six Ways to Say One Thing
Artist: Jeff Jernigan
Release Date: 7/8/2007
Tags: acoustic, folk rock, roots, americana, indie, alternative country
Jeff Jernigan (vocals, guitars); Michael Padilla (bass, drums, organ, slide guitar); Jameel Mussa (lead guitar on "Whiskey & Women"); Brett Klynn (bass on "Blindside") Victor Manning (Lead Guitar on "Blindside") Recorded at SoundPort Studios, Berkeley, California in February 2007. "Six Ways to Say One Thing," is the first independently recorded 6-song EP released by singer/ songwriter Jeff Jernigan. From the explosive intro of "Never Take You Back," to the final notes of the mesmerizing and lyrically abstract "Dream St," this album has a varied sense of styles that normally wouldn't coincide with the other; most notably alternative country and reggae. Though more obvious on some tracks then others; Jernigan's inspired songwriting and talented wordplay are showcased from start to end. With an unmissable aptness for arrangement and composition, "Six Ways to Say One Thing" is an adequate sampler of heartbreak expressed through a unique, upbeat shrewdness.
