Capitol/EMI announces the first ever career-spanning hits collection for the acclaimed Oscar® and Grammy®-nominated recording artist Lila Downs, to be released on CD and digitally on June 30. The Very Best Of El Alma De Lila Downs features 18 standout tracks, including "Arenita Azul," "La Cucaracha," and "La Línea." Several of Downs’ songs from critically acclaimed film soundtracks are also featured, including "La Niña" from Real Women Have Curves, "La Llorona" from Frida, a soundtrack for which Downs was nominated for an Academy Award®, and "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" from Tortilla Soup. Lila Downs was born in Oaxaca, Mexico and resides there today.
