Although Georgia Kelly is most well known for her spiritual harp music, she is also a classical harpist, pianist, and composer. Her Eros & Logos recording centers on a chamber piece composed as a ballet between male "reason" and female "emotion." Various solo or duo relationships are depicted: surrender, love, conflict, resolution, attraction, harmony. Except for intended periods of discord to match the action of the ballet, the themes are melodic and gorgeous. The simplicity of the orchestration (solo piano or harp, duet between viola and cello, etc.) allows the mind to see imaginary dancers and follow the action of the ballet, which is described in the liner notes. A surprise is the arrival of the conga (Migues Rivera) and flute (Richard Hardy) which, with harp, provide a lively reflection. The round, featuring all musicians, is a delightful cacophony. The soprano saxophone (Hardy) on the final "Marriage" adds a sultry, sensual element, but the piece seems to fade out mid-note. Logos & Eros is very easy to listen to and deserves to be performed and danced.
