4.0 out of 5 stars Darryl Cater, All Music Guide
Biologist and naturalist Sam Rizetta recorded the sounds of remote streams in West Virginia to make this CD, and then overdubbed his own mellow improvisations on homemade hammered dulcimers, psaltery, and Native American flute. These thirteen tracks have a bit more melody than some of Rizetta's other bio-ambient folk music, and serve as a good introduction for folk fans who are hesitant to buy an album of nature noise which liberates itself from melodic structure altogether. Rizetta feels that modern music tends to deny or ignore the natural world. His holistic approach produces some genuinely relaxing sounds.
