This Dutch LP features pianist Pete Johnson in four different settings spanning a decade of time. Six titles are trio and solo numbers taken from his 1939 Blue Note dates (bassist Abe Bolar is mistakenly listed as playing drums). Much rarer are three songs from a 1946 quintet set with organist Bill Gooden and guitarist Jimmy Shirley, and three songs with a rollicking R&B-ish sextet in 1949. But overall, collectors will prefer to get these performances in complete versions with their original sessions. Good music, but this LP is not essential.
