Critic's Review

Parker's long-awaited debut LP, coproduced by longtime collaborator David Morley. As on the 1996 single "Rocking Chair," Kiss My Arp is full of tracks that mix ominous, electro-inspired downtempo with lyrics sung by Parker herself. The vocals work on a few tunes (most notably "Breaking the Code" and "The Unkown"), but too often they seem there only for the sake of distinction, and even end up ruining a few tracks. Still, the best of Arp is very good indeed, although somewhat less impressive than Parker's earlier singles seemed to promise. [Kiss My ARP is also available in an import release.]
