Although Arthur was formed as a side project from MxPx in order to perform material which didn't quite fit that group's standard fare, the band's debut EP, Loneliness Is Bliss, isn't that much different -- after all, Arthur is composed of three MxPx members and plays essentially the same style of music, even if the overall tone of the material may be somewhat distinct. The whole affair was recorded and produced by the group itself over the span of several days, which gives a loose, informal feel to the performances -- spontaneous rather than tossed off.
