It's difficult to imagine what K-Tel and Erin Records were thinking when selecting the song titles for this release. It was first released by K-Tel in 1997, and then reissued by Erin in 2000. The problem isn't with the songs themselves; these are all delightful traditional Irish songs performed during Clannad's formative years before the group resorted to the textured new age-y keyboard sound that has since become its trademark. This is a peculiar release because all of these tracks originate from either Clannad 2 or Dulaman. The implication of "collections" albums is that a representative offering of an artist's body of work is proffered. That is not the case here. The other Clannad K-Tel release, Celtic Collections, is much more representative of this band as a whole.
