Taking obvious influence from UB40's Labour of Love albums, the Selector decided to make some recordings of reggae standards. This, the second in the series, is a rather flat release. The group attempts to cover such classics as "Cherry Oh Baby" (A song that actually appeared on the first Labour of Love), "Tide Is High," and "Pressure Drop." Essentially, the band lacks the musicianship necessary and vocalist Pauline Black doesn't quite have the pipes to pull these songs off. Reggae fans shouldn't even bother with this one and Selector faithful might be better off sticking to the group's originals.
