Clara Nunes was a great samba singer, owner of a powerful voice and a generous swing. In this compilation some of her hits were reunited, all pure samba, both Bahian (samba-de-roda) and Carioca with the samba do morro (samba of the Carioca hills) playing an expressive role, with the sole exception of "Nação," a more mid-class view of samba by João Bosco but not less respectful to the truest spirit of the Brazilian genre.
