The Sound of Music recreates the lively pace of piano duo Ferrante and Teicher's two-man show, which often found them backed by a lush full orchestra. This 12-song compilation features show tunes, movie themes, romantic ballads, and novelty songs sequenced to simulate their live performances. "Jungle Fever," "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue," "Feelings," "St. Louis Blues," and medleys of George M. Cohen, Simon and Garfunkel, and Stephen Foster sum up the mood of the disc.
