Critic's Review

2.5 out of 5 stars Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
The A-side of Life Without Buildings' second single sounds the most like Altered Images to date, which has more to do with Sue Tompkins' voice than anything else. Like the AA-side, it doesn't go any particular place, thanks to her stream-of-consciousness singing that, if sung by anyone else (or, uh, Clare Grogan), would sound like the release of a festered ball of nerves. But Tompkins sounds too perky on both tracks to make for a tension release, similar to watching a young kid bounce from contraption to contraption on a playground. The pleasantly skipping accompaniment of her mates makes for another joyous jolt.
