Slightly more ethereal sounding than their previous album, "Phonic 50mg," the six sonic landscapes painted within remind the listener of various assets both Sigur Rós and Radiohead possess, especially when both are meticulously melded. "Slow Drift"'s touches of guitar over Brad Ketchen's vocals work quite well for the first half of the song but tend to move toward a lush scene after a Robert De Niro sample. There is also a certain hidden tension in the songs, but never does it rise to the surface in the form of guitars or grand scale rock. A simpler yet highly infectious melody propels "Let Yourself Go," with Ketchen sounding synthesized and distorted in instances that have the track resembling a latter-day Cure musically. One area which could be improved is how the songs seem not to digress from this arrangement pattern, with little in the way of guitar work until midway through "Sonar Wave," and even then it's quite conservative. After using a few blips too many in the intro to "Regent Park," the band also weaves a Pink Floyd style into the mix, using the organ as a pleasant addition. Wrapping the album up is the appropriately dubbed "Epic," perhaps the most accessible of the lot. A certain brooding in the background works well here, building in an orchestral manner into a grand finish.
