As the title suggests, Selected Singles 85 -- 98 gathers some of the German dance-pop duo's best-known singles over the years, including early hits like "You're My Heart, You're My Soul," "Cheri Cheri Lady," and "Brother Louie," as well as more recent songs like "Jet Airliner," "In 100 Years," and "You Can Win if You Want." The collection also features many B-sides, like "One in a Million," "Keep Love Alive," and "Sweet Little Sheila," as well as instrumental versions of some of the band's hits. Overall, Selected Singles 85 -- 98 is pretty comprehensive, but some Modern Talking fans may be frustrated by the presentation: the set offers the songs as though they were actual CD singles, dividing 24 tracks over 10 discs. While this does add a feeling of authenticity to the set, it might be inconvenient for some listeners. Either way, Selected Singles 85 -- 98 should be of interest to hardcore Modern Talking fans.
